Project Management

What does Project Management look like with ICT

We teach our management professionals a comprehensive and balanced approach to managing each project.

From personal time management to stakeholder conflict resolution, here are our PM principles:

  • Everything with a purpose. Success is not an accident. Our managers understand the habits that make success happen every single day. Life happens – we’re here to make life happen your way.

  • Extreme ownership. When one of our people says, “It’ll get done,” it’ll get done. Every person knows where they fit, and everyone plays their role.

  • Respect. Agreement and respect are two different things. Our mangers respectfully listen and carefully coach, and they expect to obtain personal development along the way.

  • Share goals. None of these things get done if we leave it to chance! We seek to agree with everyone – employees, business partners, mentors, stakeholders, customers – on exactly what our shared goals are. Clear targets = happy customers!

With that mentality, we have some of the most adaptable, fastest moving management staff in the industry. From R&D to account management, we pride ourselves proactive planning and decisive implementation. Welcome to the results family.

Site Walkthrough

A site Walkthrough will consist of gathering an understanding of what the objective of this project will entail.  Reviewing placement and performance of equipment is a necessary step for a optimal outcome. Major changes usually happen at this point, some times the reasoning behind a placement of a device is misunderstood. We strive to understand the goals the customer has set out to accomplish and help to obtain them.

Stakeholder Meeting

Project unification is one of the most difficult things in completing a Project. This is something that is unavoidable. However, we have learned that an open line of communications and an open mind helps cut through the most difficult task. We have a hear first speak last rule here at ICT when it comes to these meetings. We find that understanding some viewpoint may change the outset of a project or its completion.  With that stated, we also know that everyone’s job is unique and has professionals for a reason. Including ours. When its time to speak about the needs and requirements of the Data portion, we help to guide others to a conclusion for the customer.

Network Configuration Meeting

Knowing that not everyone enjoys the extreme detail and understanding of the flow of data, we try to be mindful of your time and sanity. At a typical network meeting we have a Network Flow Diagram, Access Control List, User Zones List & Security Documentation.

  • Network Flow Diagram:  The location of the devices may have already been set, but the speed of connectivity and Connection type will be determined here.
  • Access Control List:  Acces to each of the devices and end devices will need to be discussed. Permissions will need to be set.
  • User Zones List:  This includes VLAN ( Virtual Local Area Network ) configuration that helps keep users on separate network configurations that help to obtain the foundation for the security and access control.
  • Security Documentation: What are your companies security regulations on remote access, user login attempts, WIFI access, etc…? We will go over all of that to prepare the network to work with your needs.

Fiber Backbone

Fiber Backbone

The backbone of the network my need a fiber connection from the Main Distribution Frame (MDF) to one or more Intermediate Distribution Frames  (IDF).  Not only is the fiber required for distances beyond 325’ from MDF to IDF, fiber carries high speed data with high bandwidth. We certify the fiber and provide the test results upon every install.

GC Meeting

We try to make it to every meeting and this would be one we can’t skip out on. A meeting with the General Contractor (GC) is very important. We need to know everything that’s going on onsite.  Knowing when to strike and hit it hard when the site is ready for us.  Staying out of the way of the other trades allow the site to get done on time.  All trades are excited to work with us for the above mentioned reason, and when its our turn they get help us to get our job done on time.

Budget Meeting

The inevitable budget.  There are times that the budget dictates your abilities toward solutions. There are times when What You Want is possible.  We have come across both sides and everything in-between.

At all meetings ICT brings solutions for the different aspects and even a new approach to what the customer wants vs. what the customer needs.  We work well under constraints yet still provide a solution.

CAT 6a Horizontal Run

There are 2 main runs to most installs. The horizontal run is the main run from the Network room to PCs, Network Printers, Servers, Security Cameras and Wireless Access Points.

The standard has changed over time as the demands have increased. We now expect 1gig a second data transfer minimum between the PC and the Switch. Cat 6a has now problem with that, however this requires proper installation practices as well as proper terminations.  ICT not only has followed this standards, we are certified.

Coordinate ISP Install

The Internet Service Provider (ISP) is required to connect to the internet. We work with the ISP to get the new network connected to the internet with the proper transmission rates as well as security and (Virtual Private Network) VPN setup.
